Oh, sunrise! How I love thee! While I do love a sunset at the Jersey Shore, there really isn’t anything like sunrise. Those golden sun beams glistening as it breaks the horizon. Sea Isle City Engagement Photography doesn’t get much better than this, and what an absolutely perfect couple to capture! We’ve known Troy’s mom for over a decade, as she used to be the Catering Manager at a wedding venue we’d shoot at a lot. So, when her son got engaged, we were beyond honored that she contacted us to capture his wedding!
The Story of Stephanie & Troy
The story begins back to the first summer that Stephanie and her girlfriends got a summer house in Sea Isle City. It was mid-July, and they went to the Ocean Drive during Sunday Jam. They ordered lemonades and became friends with the bartender. This same bartender would eventually introduce them to Troy. Troy and Stephanie became really good friends that summer, and it eventually let to a relationship.
On August 7, 2019, Troy and Stephanie were on vacation in Kefalonia, Greece. Stephanie thought that they were on their way to a fancy brunch on a boat. Standing by a cliff, overlooking Myrtos Beach, Stephanie and Troy waited to meet the others to walk down to where she thought the boat would pick them up. While waiting, her friends wanted to take some photos of them. As her friend Vanessa moved them around to get the best picture, Stephanie turned around and found Troy down on one knee! She was so shocked and surprised that she couldn’t even get out a yes, instead she just shook her head in excitement!
Planning a Wedding Through Quarantine & COVID-19
Today was supposed to be Stephanie & Troy’s big wedding at Renault Winery! However, the coronavirus had other plans and the big wedding celebration was postponed to September. However, with everything slowly opening back up, Stephanie & Troy are going to take advantage of it, and still say their official “I do’s” at the church she grew up going to – St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church! Although today’s celebration will be on a much smaller scale, it will not be lacking in love or emotion! Today will be perfect, because today will be the day that Troy and Stephanie officially become husband and wife! In September, we party!!!
What a perfect fall evening! The weather recently has really been either totally horrible or absolutely beautiful. We totally lucked out and had a gorgeous evening for Brian & Allison’s Batsto Village Engagement Photography!
Brian & Allison’s Proposal
Brian and Allison’s love story began over 9 years ago when they both worked as lifeguards at the township pool! Fast forward to this past Valentine’s Day, they were unable to celebrate because Allison was working a late shift. So, Brian suggested they celebrate the following Tuesday, since they were both off. Before they headed out, Brian gave Allison her gift. She opened the gift to find a collage of their cats and it said “Will You Meowy Me?” She then turned around to find Brian down on one knee with his camera set up, recording the whole thing! Of course she said YES! And Brian had their closest family and friends waiting at a local brewery to celebrate!!
Can’t wait for their wedding next year at Trump National! <3
If you’re interested in Batsto Village Engagement Photography, contact us today and we’ll plan your dream session!
We first met Danielle at a bridal open house down the shore earlier this year. We absolutely loved chatting with her (and her mom, sister and future mother in law) and getting to know her, so we were beyond excited when she chose us to be such an important part of her wedding day! When we started planning her and Michael’s engagement session, there was no doubt that they’d have an Avalon Engagement Photography Session! They love it there, and visit Michael’s parents house as often as they can!
As the day approached, there was a fear of one of the crazy pop-up storms that we’ve been having all summer… BUT we lucked out! While it may have been a bit stormy looking when we were on the beach, the sun popped out for about 10 minutes while we were shooting on the bay! So, we definitely took advantage of it! Ryan and I were also excited to get to meet and play with their new puppy Ralphy! He was so cute with his little floppy ears and all the love! Can’t wait for their wedding next fall in Avalon! <3
“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible!” – When Harry Met Sally
The wedding industry is so amazing to be a part of! You meet some of the sweetest people along the way. Renee is definitely one of those people! The funny part is that Renee and I probably crossed paths a lot growing up, but never even knew it! We grew up only 5 minutes from one another, and went to all of the same schools – she was just a few years ahead of me. I have been following her work as an Event Planner, with Events by Renee, since I became a wedding photographer. A few years ago she launched another division – Party Host Helpers and she is now all over the country! To say she is a rockstar would be an understatement! This woman can do it all!
Earlier this year, Renee and Ted were vacationing in Antigua with some friends of theirs. Secretly, I was hoping he would pop the question on their trip! On January 13, 2019 (exactly 11 years after Ryan proposed to me!) Ted got down on one knee by the oceanside and asked Renee to be his wife! I feel like there was a collective YAY!! across the entire wedding industry!! We are all so happy for our girl! I was already excited to see her wedding photos and she hadn’t even chosen any vendors yet!
So, when Renee contacted us to capture the day that her and Ted say their I do’s, I could not have been more honored to say YES! (and of course a bit nervous because I want her day to be captured so perfectly!) December can’t come quick enough!
We met up with Renee and Ted last week for their Longwood Gardens Engagement Photography. Everywhere you look, there is beauty and colors and flowers and waterfalls! We just wandered around and captured their love as we strolled along. They were so easy to capture! The love and laughter between them was so sweet!
From the moment that Amanda and Marc contacted us, I just had a feeling that we would get along! Over the past 10 months, I’ve loved getting to know them through email, but was so excited to finally meet them in person! When we met up for their Sassafras River Engagement Photography, we clicked (no pun intended) immediately and had the BEST time together! The love could be felt and the laughter, contagious! They made us love our job just that much more, and we are so thankful for that! We can’t wait for their wedding at One Atlantic in less than 3 months!!
The Story of Amanda and Marc
Over a decade ago, Amanda met Marc at a party being thrown by her cousins friend. Should have Amanda been at this party? Probably not, since she was grounded! However, for some reason, her parents allowed her to go, since she was going with her cousin. Had they of said no, I may not be writing this blog post right now! That evening, these two met, fell in love, and the rest, they say, is history!
The Proposal – July 3rd, 2016
It was just like any other typical Fourth of July weekend getaway, or so Amanda thought! After finding coverage for work, Marc and Amanda met up with her sorority sisters and headed down to her parent’s vacation home along the Sassafras River. The first few days consisted of typical holiday festivities – boating eating, jet skiing, drinking. On Saturday, July 2nd, while splashing around on huge inflatable floats, Amanda said to Marc “This would be the perfect weekend for you to propose to me!” This was nothing out of the ordinary for Amanda to say. But before Marc could say anything, her mom jumped in and said to stop pressuring him or it will never happen! Amanda laughed it off and floated away with her sorority sisters. Little did she know everyone started panicking that she knew what was going to happen the next day!
On July 3rd, Amanda’s parents informed her that her Aunt wanted them all to come over to her private beach that night to watch the sunset. Again, this was nothing out of the ordinary, because watching the sunset on her beach was a routine activity in her community! After a few instances that left them rushing to get to her aunts house before sunset, they were finally there! Marc kept saying “I don’t know if we’re going to get to see a sunset tonight because of how cloudy it is.” Amanda said “Who cares, we are here with everyone, have a beer and have fun!” She could not figure out what was causing him to be uptight and aggravated about the sunset.
After a little while of standing and mingling, Marc asked her to come down onto the beach to take a photo with him. So, each one of her family and friends stood in a line as her and Marc struck a pose for a photo. Little did she know, each of their phones were about to record a moment that would change their lives forever. Marc turned to face Amanda and said “While I have you here…” and got down on one knee. Marc told her she was his everything, and without hesitation, Amanda said “Put it on!” haha! Amanda’s aunt was able to capture this picture perfect moment with the pinks and oranges of a beautiful sunset behind them!
Sassafras River Engagement Photography
When choosing a location for their engagement photos, Amanda knew she wanted to go back to where it all went down – her Aunt’s private beach! We may have had to reschedule due to the crazy rain storms we’ve been having, but we lucked out with the most amazing night! With the sun setting over the Sassafras River, we explored the area that changed their lives so much and captured these two perfectly! I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
From our first meeting over some coffee and tea at Starbucks, we knew that Genevieve and Brian would be one of our favorite couples! We felt like we could just sit around and chat for hours with our new friends! We loved hearing their love story, which ultimately helped make the decision of where their engagement photos should be! Genevieve and Brian decided that a Monmouth University Engagement would be perfect! I just about died, because, have you seen that campus?! Gorgeous!! I was so excited to capture their love in a place that meant so much to them both!
The Story of Genevieve & Brian
Gen and Brian met one another at a fraternity party at Monmouth University. Since she was going to school for business and him for criminal justice, they hadn’t really crossed paths until then! They talked that night, and well, as they say, the rest is history! Their love only grew from there! This past fall, Brian and Gen visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and along WaterWorks behind the museum, Brian asked Gen to be his wife! How romantic!! We can’t wait to capture when these two say I DO at One Atlantic next year!! <3
I mean, come on… how gorgeous is this area?! It’s like glorious ancient Italian architecture right in the middle of a college campus!!!
