A Romantic Rittenhouse Square Engagement Session | Ashley & Mark

A Romantic Rittenhouse Square Engagement Session | Ashley & Mark

A Romantic Rittenhouse Square Engagement Session

When it comes to choosing a location for an engagement session, we always suggest to our couples to choose a spot that has meaning to them. Whether it be a first date location, a fun activity or just somewhere they like to hang out, the sky is the limit. So, when we started talking about locations for Ashley and Mark’s engagement session, Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia came up immediately. This was the location where they first lived together! They used to run a lot in the area, as well as just walk through the park and enjoy the flowers and scenery. So, a romantic Rittenhouse Square Engagement Session was set for Spring!

We met up with Ashley and Mark across from one of their favorite restaurants, Parc. From there, we wandered around Rittenhouse Square, and took advantage of all of the freshly bloomed flowers!  Since Spring decided to come a little late to the Philadelphia area this year, I was so thankful to find some color among the greenery in the park! We then took a short walk over to the building that they first lived together in, and then headed over to Addison Street!  I absolutely adore that they have twinkle lights on the trees there year-round!

We had such a wonderful time just wandering around, chatting and really getting to know Ashley & Mark.  Getting to know our couples is one of our reasons for wanting each couple to have an engagement session with us! This way, when we show up on the wedding day, we’re more like trusted friends than hired vendors, and we’re able to get more comfortable, natural photos of them!

The Story of Mark & Ashley

Mark and Ashley met one another during the Summer of 2015 in Avalon, NJ. Their love grew and so did their family! They welcomed a beautiful son into their lives this past October!  BUT earlier in the year, while moving into their new apartment in Philadelphia, Mark proposed to Ashley in the ‘soon to be nursery’. Swoon!  How sweet is that?!

Mark and Ashley are planning a classic, black and white wedding at the Ballroom at the Philadelphia Marriott. With EBE Paris as their band, we have no doubt that they will have an absolutely amazing time and their guests will not leave the dance floor all night!!  We can’t wait to capture such a special day for such a deserving, beautiful couple!

An Engagement Session at Valley Forge National Park | Lisa & Jason

An Engagement Session at Valley Forge National Park | Lisa & Jason

An Engagement Session at Valley Forge National Park

Lisa and Jason love walking their dog, Thor, around Valley Forge National Park. SO, when we were talking about locations that mean something to them, we skipped on Avalon, since they will be getting married there, and decided upon Valley Forge.  Since they live right nearby, an engagement session at Valley Forge National Park was the perfect location.

The Story of Lisa & Jason

Lisa and Jason met in 2006 at the University of Central Florida, where they both joined the marching band and a co-ed music fraternity. They didn’t start dating, however, until July of 2013, after they had both graduated and were moving on in their chosen career paths.

What started out as two old friends catching up at a piano bar on International Drive in Orlando, slowly developed into a very strong relationship.  So strong, that when Jason’s career moved him to Phoenixville, PA, Lisa followed a few months later! Their relationship grew as they experiences seasons for the first time together as adults and things have never been better!

In January of 2015, they welcomed their fur-baby, Thor, to their happy little family. Then, a year later, for Christmas of 2016, Jason surprised Lisa with the best gift ever – he proposed – and Lisa was left speechless for the first time in her life! Now, they are planning a dream wedding in Avalon, NJ on the beaches that Lisa grew up visiting her grandparents every summer!

This coming July, we could not be more excited to capture Lisa & Jason’s wedding at the Icona Golden Inn, a luxe beachfront resort in Avalon. We can’t wait to capture their ceremony in the church that Lisa’s grandpop still ushers in, and capture the romance between Lisa and Jason just steps away on the beaches of Avalon. To say we’re excited would be an understatement!

A William Heritage Winery Engagement Session | Lindsey & Josh

A William Heritage Winery Engagement Session | Lindsey & Josh

Lindsey and Josh meant one another 8 years ago at a summer job. They may have had a strong connection, but were at different points in their lives. Fast forward to a little over 2 years ago, and everything fell into place. Everything finally felt right.

On July 20th, 2017, Lindsey and Josh went to Heritage Winery. It was right before they were about to go on a cruise together. Everyone would joke around that Josh would propose to Lindsey on the cruise. Well, while walking around the vineyard, Josh started talking about not proposing on the cruise. It just wasn’t going to happen. Lindsey thought that Josh was going to break up with her. Instead, Josh said “How about we get engaged before the cruise?” At that moment, he dropped down on one knee and asked her to be his wife! She, of course, said YES! The icing on the cake, was that their entire family was inside the vineyard waiting to celebrate!

So, it was a no brainer that we would capture their engagement photos at the place where it all went down! It was a gorgeous fall afternoon at Heritage Winery for their engagement photos!  We can’t wait for their wedding next year at Scotland Run! Enjoy! xo

The laughter between Lindsey and Josh is so contagious!  THAT RING!   We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful October day.  So, apparently, this is their best impressions of one another!  It is in this exact spot that Josh proposed to Lindsey!

A Sunrise Engagement in Cape May at the Beach and Winery | Stephanie & Matt

A Sunrise Engagement in Cape May at the Beach and Winery | Stephanie & Matt

My cousin is engaged and I could not be happier for her!  I am beyond excited that she has found her soul mate. Plus, it helps that he’s such a great guy and they are perfect together.

Stephanie and Matt unknowingly first met at a friends wedding. Looking back on the video and photos of the wedding, they were dancing right next to one another not knowing what their ultimate future held. It wasn’t until a few months later that each of their friend groups met up one night in Manayunk.  Steph’s friend officially introduced the two of them, and as they say, the rest is history!

On December 21st, 2016, Stephanie and Matt had plans to exchange their Christmas presents early.  Matt had a crazy work schedule and they wouldn’t be able to open their presents together on Christmas morning.  So, Matt had wrapped up the ring as one of Stephanie’s gifts. Once she opened it, she didn’t believe that is was actually happening and may have actually said no at first! She was in so much shock and tears, but of course she said YES!

Stephanie and Matt will be saying their I do’s in just over a year, on November 3rd, 2018 at Kings Mills. What is my favorite part of their upcoming wedding? Our kids, Rhys & Everly will be Ring Security & the Flower Girl!  Super excited!

When planning their engagement session, Stephanie knew she wanted the beach. Although she lives in PA, she’s definitely a Jersey girl at heart. We’ve been coming to the beach together for years and our parents have places in the same Campground right outside of Sea Isle City. So, of course we love it! Although I’m not a morning person, I jumped at the chance to capture her at Matt during sunrise in Cape May!  We lucked out with the most beautiful pink, purple and blue hues just before the sun rose for the day! After playing on the beach and in the water (which was way warmer than the chilly temperature), we made our way over to Cape May Winery! The winery was such a perfect setting for their second outfit and loads more fun and laughter together!

Hope you enjoy the sneak peek of their engagement session below! xo  I just adore the way that Matt looks at Stephanie  Of course we had to include Steph’s son Mason!  Isn’t he just the cutest?  Our son Rhys is obsessed with him! He’s definitely his favorite cousin!  While I was capturing Steph & Matt, Ryan captured Mason pretending to take his own photos of them!  Perfect lighting as the sun finally rose over the small mountain of clouds!  Isn’t Sadie just the cutest pup? She may be a bit crazy at times, but you’d never know it! This is the perfect family photo!  I’m so glad that the water was warm! haha! Mason wanted a few photos with his Mom before we headed to our next location.  Their future children are going to have some gorgeous eyes!!   SO MUCH LAUGHTER!!

A Penn’s Landing Summerfest Carnival Engagement Session | Carol & Giovanni

A Penn’s Landing Summerfest Carnival Engagement Session | Carol & Giovanni

Love. Laughter. Trust. Excitement. These are all the things we feel when we’re around Carol & Giovanni! We first met them back in February when Giovanni contacted us to capture him proposing to Carol. Ryan and I were so lucky and honored to have been a part of that night! By the time it ended, we felt like we were a part of the family!

Fast forward a few months, and here we are, back at the place it all happened! Carol and G decided that the Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest would be PERFECT!  Mostly, because it has amazing meaning to their relationship now, but also because it looks completely different than when they got engaged during Winterfest. There were games, rides and beautiful views of the Delaware River. Summerfest was PERFECT for them! Throughout our time together, there was so much laughter and fun! However, the greatest feeling was trust. Giovanni and Carol told us how comfortable we made them feel and how EASY we made the awkward moments of getting your photo taken better!

Ryan and I believe that it is SO important for couples to have engagement photos taken by their wedding photographer! This is why an engagement session is included in ALL of our packages. Mostly, because its really a time to get to know your wedding photographer, how you might mesh well together and to get used to the way they shoot! Our goal is to really get our couples to interact with one another and create some beautiful, unscripted moments! All the while, we are there capturing these priceless memories! Ryan and I like to have a lot of fun with our couples and make them as comfortable as possible.  We want them leaving their time with us feeling a sense of trust, and that they just had SO MUCH FUN!

Below is just a sneak peek of the fun that we had with Giovanni & Carol.  We hope you enjoy and leave the couple some love in the comments!

Carol and Giovanni showing off their competitive nature. Its all fun and games…   Carol LOVES ice cream, so we were a bit bummed that the Franklin Fountain was closed.   Little neck nuzzles <3  After an outfit change, we wandered down to the waterfront for a few more romantic photos.  Carol & Giovanni, you truly are one of the sweetest and most fun couples we’ve had the honor of getting to know! There is just something about you that exudes “meant to be!” Thank you for choosing us to capture all of these incredible moments for you. Can’t wait to capture your wedding this November. I have a feeling it will be epic! xo

A Beautiful Summer Engagement at Cecil Creek Farm | Alyssa & Gary

A Beautiful Summer Engagement at Cecil Creek Farm | Alyssa & Gary

What is better than being in Disney World for Senior Trip? A chance meeting with the person that you ultimately going to spend the rest of your life with! Alyssa and Gary have been together on and off for the past 13 years. Gary finally proposed right before Christmas last year!

A little snippet from their wedding website, here is how it all went down:

Alyssa’s birthday is one day before Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, she had to work, but she lucked out! They weren’t busy, so they decided to close early. Alyssa pushed up the time she was going meet with her coworkers, but when she arrived home, Gary had different plans. He invited her family and his parents over! As everyone was arriving, Alyssa was excited because she was thinking how thoughtful it was to have everyone over. Alyssa really didn’t think anything of it, just that she felt so loved and blessed. Alyssa thought Gary was helping to make her day, because she was sad it was another birthday that she was not celebrating with her mother.

After a little while, Gary’s brother arrived because he claimed he wanted cake, and so they sang to her. After Alyssa blew out the candles, everyone was still standing with their cameras in front of their faces. Alyssa looked confused and asked what was going on. As she turned to her right, there was Gary smiling down on one knee with an amazing wedding ring in a box. Alyssa broke down sobbing because she couldn’t believe he had FINALLY asked her. It was an amazing birthday to say the least!!

Alyssa and Gary planned their wedding for the Spring at Cecil Creek Farms. Since it is such a beautiful property, we also were able to capture their engagement photos there too!  Thank you to Lizzie for driving us around!  Can’t wait to capture their wedding there next year! xo
