It was the BEST decision I’ve ever made to fully jump feet first in pursuing what I truly dreamed of doing! To have Ryan there to help me and support me and give me the drive and confidence to actually take this leap – there are no words to the love and gratitude I have for my wonderful, loving husband who always sees the best in me and knows what I can do even when I can’t see it. He is truly my rock, and my everything!
The three years prior to going full time I was finishing college and working full time as well as trying to build my business… and those years were hard… really hard… but the moment I was able to quit my full time job and turn something I was so passionate about into a full time job reality was all worth it! I wont lie, these past 3 years since then have been hard as well, but the difficult times and the anxiety of booking weddings and finding the perfect brides and grooms and trying not to be a crazy “sales” person… these times are all worth it when I show up on a wedding day to a huge hug from my bride saying how excited she is that I am there… to their faces when they see one of the images we’ve just captured… to their reactions when they get their sneak peek… then receiving so many thanks after sending them their photos and album… and then the wonderful friendship that continues after their wedding – each of my brides and grooms make it ALL worth it! They are my reason for doing what I’m doing – their LOVE keeps me moving and keeps me motivated – and I love each and every one of them for this! Without each of them, I would not be where I am today – and to each and every one of you and the 160+ weddings I’ve shot thus far, I want to say a huge THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!
And since posts are better with photos… here is a photo from our trip to Mexico in 2011 where we decided that when we returned home, I was quitting my job in the corporate world and taking on my dreams full time!
I can not even begin to express how excited we are to add a new member to our family! Yes, we may already have two babies – but since they walk on all fours and are covered in fur, once our human baby arrives, I’m sad to say that people might think I’m a bit crazy if I still refer to Bella and Cooper as my babies too. I’m sure I still will, but I can’t help it! Bella captured our hearts five years ago and Cooper two years ago and I couldn’t imagine our lives without them (and hopefully our new baby will feel the same!)
Its been such a crazy journey to get to where we are today filled with happiness, hope, heartbreak, tons of worry, and happiness renewed… It was this month last year in 2013 that our first baby was sent to heaven at only 8 weeks old – it was such a hard time to get through – but I know God doesn’t give us an obstacle that we can’t overcome. But since I had experienced a Partial Molar Pregnancy, unfortunately, I couldn’t try to get pregnant again right away. I had to go through monthly blood tests to make sure my hormone levels got to where they should be to prevent cancer from forming in my uterus. It was the hardest 6 months to have to be reminded of what we had gone through once a month when I went for my tests… but it was worth it in the end to have a 100% clean bill of health and the ability to try to grow our family once again!
Since, ideally, with a wedding photographers schedule, a winter baby would be best, we were so VERY lucky to get pregnant and will be expecting our miracle baby on December 12th, 2014. I was so filled with worry during the first few months, that we didn’t actually announce our pregnancy to family and friends until I was through our first trimester. We didn’t want to take that chance – just in case. And now, a few weeks later, we’re excited to share our story with the world!
The hardest part now is to stop myself from stressing out over everything – but mostly stressing out over my very first baby – this photography business! Its been my baby for almost 6 1/2 years and has grown into something so amazing that I couldn’t have even imagined it when we first started back in 2008. I worry about taking time off, I worry it will be too much time, but yet not enough time… but I know I have to stop worrying and stop stressing and realize what is most important… Being a loving and encouraging wife to the love of my life and being healthy and happy and a wonderful mother to our son. Although it has been for the past 6+ years, this business can’t be put before my husband and child, and that is the scariest thing of all. To let go of the reins a little bit and to start really living my life with the ones I love and not working the ones I love around my busy schedule.
*To my brides and grooms – no worries, you won’t see a difference in my response time or getting your photos back – I am pulling the reins back in different ways to help with post-processing and making my job at home much easier so that I can spend as much time with my family as I can!
I will be 21 weeks tomorrow and our baby is growing at a great pace and we can not wait to meet him! Yes, you read that right… Ryan and I will be expecting a beautiful, smart, rambunctious (I’m sure!), perfect little baby boy in December! We can’t wait to show him off to everyone, and I promise, although I’m sure I will be blogging about him, this blog will still be focused around weddings with a few more peeks into our personal lives along the way! I can’t wait for you all to meet Rhys Thomas Garber this December!!
Also, thank you SO much to everyone who guessed what we were having on our fan page!!! Out of the 160+ guesses, 71 of those guesses were correct!!! And the winner of a free couples session is…. Katlyn Mogavero! Congratulations Katlyn!! Email us to set up a time for your session!!!
I am so lucky. 3 years ago I married the love of my life – and on this day, I can’t believe its been 3 years since we said our I do’s in Laguna Beach, CA! These past three years have been so wonderful, and yet we’ve also been faced with challenges and loss, and we’ve been able to hold onto one another and make it through every situation – good, bad and heartbreaking – and I am so thankful that Ryan was the one that I had by my side. So many people say they married their best friend – and for us, its true 100%. Not only do we have a wonderful friendship now, but we’ve been lucky enough to be best friends for 10 1/2 years… And for the last 3 of those, being so privileged to be married to my absolute best friend – gosh, there are no words.
Our future… I’m so looking forward to it… it looks like so much fun! We have new adventures to embark on, new places to visit, and the best part of it all is that we get to do it together – side by side – holding hands and taking it all in! I’m so excited for what lies ahead of us!
Always & Forever Ry! xo

After returning home from my childhood best friends wedding, I decided that I wanted to be a wedding photographer. This wasnt a dream I was going to pursue. I was graduating from college with a Business/Human Resources degree, and that is what I was going to do. I was going to join the corporate world, have a boring job, and live my life the way I thought I should. That was until Ryan stepped in. He pushed me, and encouraged me and told me that if Wedding Photography was something I wanted to pursue, then that is just what I need to do. I thank him every.single.day for pushing me to do what I truly wanted to do – and I’ve been living my dreams every day since!
During that summer, since I was engaged at the time, and planning a wedding in Southern California, I started researching wedding photographers in the Orange County area… That is when I came across Jasmine Star. From that moment, my world changed. She was honest. She was inspirational. She was beautiful both inside and out. And mostly, unbeknownst to her, she helped me to become the wedding photographer that I am today.
Almost 5 years after I stumbled upon her site, I saw that Jasmine was hosting a Workshop in Orange County, CA right after my birthday. So, of course, I go to Ryan and said prettypleasewithsugarontopitcantotallybemybirthdaypresentprettyplease. He said yes, but it wasnt going to be my birthday present, it was going to be because I really wanted it – truthfully I’ve wanted to go every time she had a workshop, but this was the first time its actually worked with my schedule!
So, here I am, a week after the J* Workshop, still feeling so inspired and so excited to have met her and her amazing husband JD! To say her workshop was one of the best investments I’ve made would be an absolute understatement. She spoke to us with such honesty, with an open heart and we got down and dirty and I learned so much from just one day with her. I am thankful for the knowledge that Jasmine shared with us. I am thankful for all the friendships made with such amazing and talented photographers from all over the US and even Canada. I am thankful for that day. Things are going to start changing, but all for the better! Brides and grooms, watch out – its going to be a fabulous ride! Can’t wait to capture the fun, romance and everything that makes each of your weddings unique to each of you!
One of my favorite parts of the day was our photo shoot! Jasmine had the absolutely adorable Erin and her hubby Grant model for us! Erin is a wedding photographer in Orange County – but she could have fooled me – she could totally be a professional model! It was so adorable that Erin + Grants anniversary was actually the day prior to the shoot, so they were able to get some pretty amazing anniversary photos in her wedding dress! Special thanks to Melina from Beauty by Melina for Erin’s gorgeous hair and makeup, and Krista Jon for the beautiful florals as well as the tandem bike!!! Absolutely blown away by the talent and awesomeness on that gorgeous August day in Irvine, CA.
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day…
Meet Erin. Gorgeous, right?
Meet Erin’s hubby Grant. Such a dapper dude!
Love the way he looks at her!
The tandem bike from Krista Jon’s company Archive Rentals and florals on the bike by her as well!
Jasmine Star doin’ her thang!
I wish I could have a tandem bike at every wedding!
Ending with a shot of the two people who made the day so special – Jasmine + JD! Aren’t they just the cutest together?!
I can’t believe its been 2 years already… 2 years of living a fairy tale… 2 years of being married to my very best friend… 2 years of continuing to live and pursue our dreams together… 2 years with so many ups and downs but the strength and love to get through it all… 2 years that I wouldn’t change for anything!!
I cant wait until these 2 years become 12…22…32… and many many more! I cant wait to continue to travel the world with you, to start a family with you and make all of our dreams come true!
Ryan, you are my prince charming, my best friend and my very own happily ever after! And as I vowed… I will love you Always and Forever!
You’re My Favorite!
I love you!

On St. Patrick’s Day 2013, my cousin Meghan will be turning Sweet 16! I can not tell you how wonderful its been watching her grow up into the smart, mature and beautiful young lady she is today! I feel like just yesterday we were on a family vacation together in the Bahamas, both of us much younger, me babysitting her when our parents went out – and in a flash, its 8 years later, i’m a couple years shy of turning 30 and she is turning 16! Its amazing how time flies! Meghan, make sure you cherish every moment – because yes, time does fly by, but the memories collected along the way can never be replaced! Happy Sweet 16 gorgeous girl! xo
She is an absolute natural 🙂
The freedom of being 16 again…
Since she was born on St. Patty’s Day, we had to bring some green to the party!
And then before my eyes… she grew up…
