Why Hire a Husband & Wife Wedding Photography Team?!
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert; Pierre and Marie Curie; Johnny and June Cash: what would history, science, and music be like without the teamwork of these devoted couples? When two people who love each other also work together, the results have an extra dimension not often found in regular business partnerships. We like to think that the same is true for wedding photography. Meet us – we are Tami and Ryan and have been married for seven wonderful years. Here are some reasons why we think a husband and wife wedding photography team represents the ideal choice for your wedding photography.
We Get It
Although there are lots of talented wedding photographers out there, we know what it’s like to plan a wedding because we’ve done it. Seven years ago, we said our own vows. Looking back, a lot of the day is a wonderful blur. That’s why getting the photographs just the way you want them is so important. Throughout the day, we will do everything to capture your vision of your wedding day just as you want it. We know how precious our wedding album is to us and want to make sure you will cherish your wedding photos just as much.
We Can Be Two Places at One Time
A single photographer will not be able to capture every moment of your wedding day; there is simply too much happening at any given time. The both of us can take pictures of separate events happening at the same time, such as the bride getting ready, the groom wiping a tear away as he reads a little note from his soon to be bride, etc. We can also photograph the ceremony from different angles, capturing the groom’s expression when he first sees the bride or the pride of the bride’s parents seeing their little girl all grown up.
Teamwork Produces Better Results
Many wedding photographers hire a “second shooter,” but the name says it all. This person may be less experienced or may not have worked with your photographer before. At any rate, there is a hierarchy, which means that the second photographer will do what he or she is instructed to do. As a married couple, we cooperate and work together automatically, whether it is putting our kids to bed, getting the errands run, or making sure our equipment is in tip-top condition for our next wedding. But most importantly, we have worked as a team to photograph over 250 weddings. Together we will fulfill your vision of how your wedding day should be recorded.
Get Two Perspectives
Having either a male or a female photographer is going to be awkward at times. What bride wants a guy in her suite as she is getting ready, having her hair done, and sharing giggles with her bridesmaids? On the flip side, what groom wants a woman photographing his pre-wedding jitters? We don’t have that problem. Tami loves chronicling how a woman about to marry becomes a bride when she puts on her dress. (It is actually one of Tami’s favorite moments of the day!) As for Ryan, he loves hanging out with the guys and photographing the final moments of bachelor life.
Wedding Photography Is Our Life’s Work
When other photographers go home, they put their work away. If an issue comes up or they have an idea for a client, it has to wait until the next business day. Not so with us. We are together most of the time and thus are able to be creative when the ideas come, not when the clock is between 9am and 5 pm. We each know the logistics for every shoot. But more importantly, we have a shared passion: taking the best wedding photos possible.
We’d be honored to photograph your special day. Please contact us to set up a time to chat about your vision for your wedding and how we can help you achieve it.
