From the moment that Amanda and Marc contacted us, I just had a feeling that we would get along! Over the past 10 months, I’ve loved getting to know them through email, but was so excited to finally meet them in person! When we met up for their Sassafras River Engagement Photography, we clicked (no pun intended) immediately and had the BEST time together! The love could be felt and the laughter, contagious! They made us love our job just that much more, and we are so thankful for that! We can’t wait for their wedding at One Atlantic in less than 3 months!!
The Story of Amanda and Marc
Over a decade ago, Amanda met Marc at a party being thrown by her cousins friend. Should have Amanda been at this party? Probably not, since she was grounded! However, for some reason, her parents allowed her to go, since she was going with her cousin. Had they of said no, I may not be writing this blog post right now! That evening, these two met, fell in love, and the rest, they say, is history!
The Proposal – July 3rd, 2016
It was just like any other typical Fourth of July weekend getaway, or so Amanda thought! After finding coverage for work, Marc and Amanda met up with her sorority sisters and headed down to her parent’s vacation home along the Sassafras River. The first few days consisted of typical holiday festivities – boating eating, jet skiing, drinking. On Saturday, July 2nd, while splashing around on huge inflatable floats, Amanda said to Marc “This would be the perfect weekend for you to propose to me!” This was nothing out of the ordinary for Amanda to say. But before Marc could say anything, her mom jumped in and said to stop pressuring him or it will never happen! Amanda laughed it off and floated away with her sorority sisters. Little did she know everyone started panicking that she knew what was going to happen the next day!
On July 3rd, Amanda’s parents informed her that her Aunt wanted them all to come over to her private beach that night to watch the sunset. Again, this was nothing out of the ordinary, because watching the sunset on her beach was a routine activity in her community! After a few instances that left them rushing to get to her aunts house before sunset, they were finally there! Marc kept saying “I don’t know if we’re going to get to see a sunset tonight because of how cloudy it is.” Amanda said “Who cares, we are here with everyone, have a beer and have fun!” She could not figure out what was causing him to be uptight and aggravated about the sunset.
After a little while of standing and mingling, Marc asked her to come down onto the beach to take a photo with him. So, each one of her family and friends stood in a line as her and Marc struck a pose for a photo. Little did she know, each of their phones were about to record a moment that would change their lives forever. Marc turned to face Amanda and said “While I have you here…” and got down on one knee. Marc told her she was his everything, and without hesitation, Amanda said “Put it on!” haha! Amanda’s aunt was able to capture this picture perfect moment with the pinks and oranges of a beautiful sunset behind them!
Sassafras River Engagement Photography
When choosing a location for their engagement photos, Amanda knew she wanted to go back to where it all went down – her Aunt’s private beach! We may have had to reschedule due to the crazy rain storms we’ve been having, but we lucked out with the most amazing night! With the sun setting over the Sassafras River, we explored the area that changed their lives so much and captured these two perfectly! I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
