A Beautiful Jersey Shore Wedding at Icona Avalon | Lisa & Jason

Lisa and Jason’s summer wedding at Icona Avalon was absolutely lovely, filled with so much love, laughter, and even a bit of squealing (on the brides part – haha!). Ryan and I first met Lisa at a bridal show at Icona Avalon, and just knew when we first met that her and Jason would be our ideal couple to capture! So, when we met up again for their engagement session at Valley Forge National Park, it was no wonder that we would all get along so well! We’ve looked forward to capturing their wedding ever since! The couple’s unforgettable wedding day was classic, sentimental and perfect, just like the bride and groom!

Classic Bridal Details for a Lovely, Modern Bride

Lisa’s Essense of Australia dress, from All Things Bridal in Quakertown, PA, was absolutely stunning! It had just the right amount of bling, and the off-the-shoulder straps were the perfect touch! Her earrings from Francesca’s were beautiful, and matched her cupcake charm necklace perfectly. (Lisa’s mom calls her Cuppycake)

Getting Ready with the Bride and her Bridesmaids & Bridesman at Icona Avalon

Lisa, her bridesmaids and bridesman, had such a great time getting ready at the Icona Avalon. The room was beautiful and bright! I loved walking in and seeing Alex from Taffeta Hair & Makeup Design doing Lisa’s hair! Alex and her team are some of my absolute favorite Hair & Makeup artists to work with! While everyone was being pampered and getting ready, you could truly tell how excited and important this day was for Lisa – and how much everyone that she loved supported her and Jason!

I think I was the most excited when I saw Kristin and Meredith from Bel Momento Weddings! It is so important to hire a Wedding Planner! Even if they don’t help you from the start, hiring a day-of coordinator is such a great decision! They will take the burden of all the last minute details and deal with all of the moving parts of the day! This way, you get to enjoy every moment and not have to worry about anything!

Getting Ready with the Groom and his Groomsmen & Groomsmaid at a Private Residence

Meanwhile, Jason was hanging out and getting ready with his Groomsmen and Groomsmaid at a shore house in Avalon. After getting dressed, Jason read a beautiful card and opened his gift from Lisa :) Then everyone headed to the beach to get some groom and his party photos done before the first look!

The Story of Lisa and Jason

Lisa and Jason met in 2006 at the University of Central Florida, where they both joined the marching band and a co-ed music fraternity. They didn’t start dating, however, until July of 2013, after they had both graduated and were moving on in their chosen career paths.

What started out as two old friends catching up at a piano bar on International Drive in Orlando, slowly developed into a very strong relationship. So strong, that when Jason’s career moved him to Phoenixville, PA, Lisa followed a few months later! Their relationship grew as they experiences seasons for the first time together as adults and things have never been better!

In January of 2015, they welcomed their fur-baby, Thor, to their happy little family. Then, a year later, for Christmas of 2016, Jason surprised Lisa with the best gift ever – he proposed – and Lisa was left speechless for the first time in her life!

The Perfect First Look for the Bride and Groom & Portraits on the Beach

Lisa and Jason were SO excited to see one another! They chose a perfect location, along the beach path right next to Icona Avalon! The look on Jason’s face says it all! I even teared up a bit while capturing these precious moments between Lisa and Jason! After all of the “I love you’s” and hugs and kisses, we captured some beautiful portraits of Lisa & Jason!

On the beach in Avalon, after the first look, we took advantage of all the time we had before the ceremony, and captured their bridal party portraits, and Lisa’s party portraits! To say this group of people, that Lisa and Jason loved most, were amazing, would be an understatement! We had so much fun with them all!

Saying, “I Do!” at Maris Stella Catholic Church

Having their ceremony at Maris Stella Church meant a lot to Lisa and Jason, because it is the church that is one street away from her grandparents house, and her grandfather still ushers there! They had such a meaningful ceremony, surrounded by everyone that was important to them! Including Lisa’s father!! She was unsure if he would make it to the ceremony, as he had emergency surgery the week prior. However, he greeted us as we pulled up to the church, and after her uncle and grandfather walked her half way down the aisle, her father took over the rest of the way! It was so exciting that he was there!

Lisa and Jason are husband and wife! Yay! So, of course we need some more photos now that they are officially married! After the ceremony, we walked across the street to the beach path that Lisa grew up walking down, to get to the beach in Avalon! We spent a little bit of time there, before heading back to Icona Avalon and enjoying cocktail hour!

The ballroom was full of silver, purple and sparkled, just as Lisa dreamt it would! There was no detail untouched! Lisa even got to do her father-daughter dance with her dad, while everyone was still enjoying cocktail hour, before he left to go back to the hospital! It was so heartwarming! Their reception was so much fun – a beautiful first dance, funny and loving speeches, and all of their family and friends dancing the afternoon away!!!

The Perfect Ending to Lisa and Jason’s Wedding – Ice Cream at Sundae Best

Lisa grew up coming to Sundae Best in Avalon. So, what else would be the perfect ending to their wedding day?! Ice Cream Sundae’s!! Lisa, of course, got Mint Chocolate Chip, or, as she called it growing up, Beach House Ice Cream! Sundae Best even set up their own ice cream cart for them outside for their family and friends! It s the perfect ending to the most perfect day! We didn’t want it to end! Congratulations to such a wonderful couple!
