Chic, Elegant Rustic Wedding Details for a Modern Bride
When we arrived at the Updike Farmstead of Princeton and saw these large farm doors, we immediately knew that her dress had to be hung there! I was so excited about her Mikaella dress that she found at Kleinfeld Bridal, because that was the same dress designer that I had for my own wedding dress! Boy, it did not disappoint! Plus, her beautiful earrings, golden belt and Stuart Weitzman shoes were the topping on the cake! Most importantly, she had some awesome customized Converse shoes for later, so she could easily dance the night away!
The Bride and her Attendants, Getting Ready at the Farmhouse at Updike Farmstead
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Katie at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where she was getting her hair and makeup done. Afterwards, we headed over to the Farmhouse on the property at Updike Farmstead for her to get dressed. On the second floor, in the bridal suite, her mom helped her into her dress, and you could see the butterflies start to develop as we were getting closer to her first look with Drew!

Ryan arrived to a room full of fun and jokes as he hung out with Drew, and helped get him ready for the day! Afterwards, they drove over to the Updike Farmstead of Princeton to hang out a little while before the all important first look was to take place!
A First Look and Bride & Groom Portraits on the Farm at Updike Farmstead
As the magical mist filled the air, so did the excitement of Katie and Drew seeing one another for the very first time! There was so much joy and love and laughter! Ryan and I had the best time walking around the property and capturing these two lovebirds in all of their soon to be wedded bliss!! In just a short period of time, we feel like we got to know them so well! Above all, we hope to continue our friendship well past their wedding day!
I carried around my “Love is in the Air” Kate Spade Umbrella for rainy-misty breaks in between photos. I couldn’t help to get a photo with it too!

Katie & Drew’s bridal party was so much fun! I particularly love that Katie had her brother as one of HER attendants! More recently, I am loving that our couples are not afraid to mix things up and have guys and girls as attendants on each side of the bridal party!
A Meaningful Ceremony, Officiated by the Uncle of the Bride
Goodness, the ceremony location at the Updike Farmstead of Princeton is right out of a rustic brides dream wedding Pinterest board! From the distressed white building to the old farm windmill and white chairs, it is absolute perfection! Plus, we always get excited when a family member is going to officiate the wedding – It means that it is just that much more meaningful and personal for the couple! Also, we absolutely adored their reading during the ceremony – How Falling in Love is like Owning a Dog, by Taylor Mali! So cute!
A Fun and Dance filled Reception in the tent at Updike Farmstead of Princeton
The barn at Updike Farmstead of Princeton is so beautiful! The barn is filled with natural light flowing in and beautiful twinkle lights! Not a detail was missed! Speaking of the overall details of the day, I can’t forget to mention Alana from Bella Donna Weddings! Alana and her team did an amazing job making sure the day went according to plan! It was such a pleasure working with her! Having a wedding planner is the best decision a couple can do for themselves on their special day! Therefore, removing all of the stresses and letting someone else take the reins, is such a weight lifted off your shoulders and you’re free to thoroughly enjoy your day!
