A Grounds for Sculpture Celestial Themed Wedding | Lauren & Sean

A Grounds for Sculpture Celestial Themed Wedding | Lauren & Sean

Lauren & Sean’s June wedding at Grounds for Sculpture was truly one-of-a-kind with a celestial theme that incorporated unique and stylish details along the way. We already knew they their day would be amazing, since we captured Lauren’s brothers wedding almost 6 years ago! We loved getting to know Sean, and all of their friends and family throughout the wedding day. The couple’s unforgettable wedding day was stylish, unique, sentimental, and gorgeous, just like the bride and groom!

Unique, Celestial Details for a Modern Bride

Lauren’s Ysa Makino bridal gown from Kleinfeld Bridal was the perfect mix of Modern, Class and Unique. It was the perfect dress for the perfect bride!  Her Worthington heels with just the right amount of rose gold glitter was the perfect accessory for her feet! Lauren was also wearing her grandmothers ring from Cuba, which is also Seans birthstone! I was in love with all of the pink, purple and gold details that filled the day!

Getting Ready with the Ladies at her Parent’s House

Lauren and her bridesmaids had a great time getting ready at her parents house. They were pampered all morning by VC Salon, making sure that they looked perfect and not a hair was out of place! You could tell how important this day was for Lauren and her friends and family. They were all so attentive to such a sweet bride.

Getting Ready with the Guys at the Hyatt Place Hotel – Princeton, NJ

Sean was so stylish in his custom suit by Dr. Bespoke.  We loved the bicycle details on the inside of his jacket and the back of his vest. Each of his details were unique and modern, which just added to his style.

The Story of Lauren & Sean

Lauren and Sean met at work. They became friends through movies, cartoons, and video games. Lauren left that job and Sean invited her to the company holiday party a month later. She got there late, and so, as fate may have it, Sean and her got their own table. Their first date was seeing the movie Gnomeo and Juliet, and they fell in love instantly. He Proposed at Grounds for Sculpture at the highest point, on a secluded bridge, when no one was around. He asked Lauren to be his best friend forever. Swoon!

A First Look where Sean Proposed at Grounds for Sculpture

The moment that Lauren and Sean laid eyes on each other for the first time on their wedding day was so sweet and perfect.  Right in the spot that Sean proposed, he caught the first glimpse of his soon to be bride.  There were smiles, laughter and a few tears and they enjoyed such a special moment together.

Saying “I Do!” in a Sentimental Ceremony at The Nine Muses at Grounds for Sculpture

The Nine Muses is a multi-component grouping carved from Vermont granite. The number of figures holds significance in that there were nine “muses” in classical mythology, all daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, who presided over the arts and sciences.

Kris Bruno officiated Lauren & Sean’s wedding, adding in touches of love and sentiment. Lauren and Sean wrote their own meaningful vows, and his sister performed a reading and “tying of the knot” ceremony as well.  Every moment was beautiful and true to who they are.

A Fun Reception at the Seward Johnson Center for the Arts at Grounds for Sculpture

“It’s easy sometimes to forget the simple things that give us pleasure. If we open our eyes, life is marvelous. The human spirit triumphs, if only for moments in a day.” -Seward Johnson

The gallery at the Seward Johnson Center for the Arts was the perfect spot for Lauren and Sean to celebrate with their friends and family! It was a modern ballroom filled with love and light!  The band, EBE Milan 77, made sure that all of their guests had a great time and did not leave the dance floor all evening! Lauren and Sean chose an amazing wedding venue and planned an absolutely unforgettable day for all of their family and friends!

The Best Wedding Vendors for a Grounds for Sculpture Wedding:

Best of 2016 – Engagements!

Best of 2016 – Engagements!

Aside from capturing weddings, our next favorite thing to shoot are engagements!  Whether the actual proposal when it happens or the engagement session before the wedding, we love it all!  Engagement sessions are the perfect time to truly get to know one another!  We have time to get to know you as a couple – what you like to do together, how you met and got engaged, your quirks, and how comfortable you are in front of the camera. At this same time, you also get to know us, and form more of a trust and friendship, so that when we show up on your wedding day, we’re more like friends than random vendors. This years engagements took us from South Jersey to North Jersey to the Jersey Shore to Hoboken and over to Philadelphia and Villanova!  We love traveling these distances to get the chance to form a lifelong friendship and bond with each of our couples!

Kensi + Peter :: Villanova University – Villanova, PA

Kensi and Peter met through mutual friends while attending Villanova together during their Sophomore Year. So, there was no better choice than to capture their engagement session at the location that they met!

Sari + Franklin :: Grounds for Sculpture – Hamilton, NJ

Sari and Franklin are such a fun, loving couple. They met one another while working together – and really set their friendship on fire!  They appreciate beautiful art, so the Grounds for Sculpture was a fun choice for their engagement session!

Kristin + Jim :: Hoboken, NJ

Kristin and Jim met and spent the beginning part of dating while in Hoboken.  So, why not go back to where it all began to capture their engagement photos?!  We had a perfect evening with lots of laughter and a beautiful sky!

Alison + Jim :: Brigantine, NJ

Alison and Jim may have met one another through mutual friends while hanging out one evening… but their engagement took place in one of their favorite locations – Brigantine!  After a day of “almosts” Jim finally proposed while they were watching TV together at Alison’s family’s house.  It was perfect.

Jessica + Eric :: Ocean City, NJ

Jessica and Eric grew a long lasting friendship while working together, and didn’t actually start dating until about 6 years after they met.  Eric proposed to Jessica in front of the Christmas Light Show while in Hershey, PA for Christmas last year! Since they will be getting married in Mexico later this year, they thought a beach theme would be ideal for their engagement photos!

Rocco + Kait :: Wildwood, NJ

These two! My goodness!  Instead of talking about their epic New York City proposal… you can see all the images HERE!  Since Kaits family has a house in Wildwood, and they spend a lot of time down there throughout the summer, they figured that would be a place that would mean the most to them to have their engagement photos taken!

Jackie + Tom :: Philadelphia, PA

Jackie and Tom are one of the many couples that were lucky enough to meet one another online! They loved the idea of wedding photos in the city, but since they were getting married at the beach, that wasn’t exactly practical.  So, we decided to capture their engagement in Philadelphia instead!

Caitlin + Andrew :: Rutgers University – New Brunswick, NJ

Caitlin and Andrew met while attending Rutgers University at the Nicholas Residence Hall.  So, for their engagement, we started where it all began! We then headed over to Passion Puddle and ended our time together at Old Queens Gate!  We were able to get the full Rutgers experience!

Christina + Colin :: Hereford Lighthouse – Wildwood, NJ

Christina and Colin met “the old fashioned” way – In a bar in the east village in New York City.  They both have a love for the beach, so they chose the Hereford Lighthouse and the surrounding area for their engagement photos!

Shannon + John :: Old City – Philadelphia, PA

Shannon and John were set up by one of Shannons friends… who also happens to be Johns cousin! As they say, the rest is history!  John proposed to her in their Old City Philadelphia apartment after a night of dinner and dancing. They chose to walk out their front door and use the Philadelphia waterfront and surrounding area for their session… the same area they walk their dog together and enjoy daily!

Michelle + Chris :: Franklin Square Park – Philadelphia, PA

Michelle and Chris have a fun, long love story where they actually met one another 16 years ago, and years later, reconnected and here we are – they are getting married in just over 4 months!  Since Chris proposed on Christmas Eve last year, they wanted a festive engagement session.  They chose the most adorable location – Franklin Square Park!

Kasey + Bill :: Historic Smithville – Galloway, NJ

Kasey and Bill met while working with one another, and their friendship grew over the years to so much more.  They will be getting married in only a few weeks! But first, we captured their engagement session in a spot that they love, during a season they love! Smithville at Christmas!

Ashling + Jason!

Ashling + Jason!

Ashling and Jason met each other while attending York College.  Three and a half years after they started dating, Ashling took the plunge and moved to be with Jason in Washington DC!  About 6 months later, on their 4 year anniversary he proposed!  According to Ashling:

“I wasn’t sure when he’d pop the question, but I was positive about one thing: it wouldn’t be on our anniversary because Jason had told me “it’s so cliché to get engaged on your anniversary.” I was convinced….. After a great dinner, we came home and I took our dog, Lou, for a walk. When I came back inside, Jason called my name from the room saying “you have to see this!” It was Tuesday, so I assumed he was watching one of his favorite shows, Tosh.0. I walked in the room, looked at the TV, and then realized I didn’t see him anywhere. So, I turned to my left, and there he was: on his knee, right next to me. I’d like to say that I jumped up and down, crying and screaming “yes!” But, in reality…I blacked out. Dropped my jacket…dropped Lou’s leash…and just stared at him in shock. Eventually, I snapped out of it, said yes. Looking back, I think it’s good that he had to sweat it out a bit! “

We met up with them this past Saturday at Grounds for Sculpture where we didnt really focus too much on the sculptures, but more of the beautiful grounds throughout the park!  Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Love this bridge!

I just adored how the two of them looked at each other
