Best of 2016 – Engagements!

Aside from capturing weddings, our next favorite thing to shoot are engagements!  Whether the actual proposal when it happens or the engagement session before the wedding, we love it all!  Engagement sessions are the perfect time to truly get to know one another!  We have time to get to know you as a couple – what you like to do together, how you met and got engaged, your quirks, and how comfortable you are in front of the camera. At this same time, you also get to know us, and form more of a trust and friendship, so that when we show up on your wedding day, we’re more like friends than random vendors. This years engagements took us from South Jersey to North Jersey to the Jersey Shore to Hoboken and over to Philadelphia and Villanova!  We love traveling these distances to get the chance to form a lifelong friendship and bond with each of our couples!

Kensi + Peter :: Villanova University – Villanova, PA

Kensi and Peter met through mutual friends while attending Villanova together during their Sophomore Year. So, there was no better choice than to capture their engagement session at the location that they met!

Sari + Franklin :: Grounds for Sculpture – Hamilton, NJ

Sari and Franklin are such a fun, loving couple. They met one another while working together – and really set their friendship on fire!  They appreciate beautiful art, so the Grounds for Sculpture was a fun choice for their engagement session!

Kristin + Jim :: Hoboken, NJ

Kristin and Jim met and spent the beginning part of dating while in Hoboken.  So, why not go back to where it all began to capture their engagement photos?!  We had a perfect evening with lots of laughter and a beautiful sky!

Alison + Jim :: Brigantine, NJ

Alison and Jim may have met one another through mutual friends while hanging out one evening… but their engagement took place in one of their favorite locations – Brigantine!  After a day of “almosts” Jim finally proposed while they were watching TV together at Alison’s family’s house.  It was perfect.

Jessica + Eric :: Ocean City, NJ

Jessica and Eric grew a long lasting friendship while working together, and didn’t actually start dating until about 6 years after they met.  Eric proposed to Jessica in front of the Christmas Light Show while in Hershey, PA for Christmas last year! Since they will be getting married in Mexico later this year, they thought a beach theme would be ideal for their engagement photos!

Rocco + Kait :: Wildwood, NJ

These two! My goodness!  Instead of talking about their epic New York City proposal… you can see all the images HERE!  Since Kaits family has a house in Wildwood, and they spend a lot of time down there throughout the summer, they figured that would be a place that would mean the most to them to have their engagement photos taken!

Jackie + Tom :: Philadelphia, PA

Jackie and Tom are one of the many couples that were lucky enough to meet one another online! They loved the idea of wedding photos in the city, but since they were getting married at the beach, that wasn’t exactly practical.  So, we decided to capture their engagement in Philadelphia instead!

Caitlin + Andrew :: Rutgers University – New Brunswick, NJ

Caitlin and Andrew met while attending Rutgers University at the Nicholas Residence Hall.  So, for their engagement, we started where it all began! We then headed over to Passion Puddle and ended our time together at Old Queens Gate!  We were able to get the full Rutgers experience!

Christina + Colin :: Hereford Lighthouse – Wildwood, NJ

Christina and Colin met “the old fashioned” way – In a bar in the east village in New York City.  They both have a love for the beach, so they chose the Hereford Lighthouse and the surrounding area for their engagement photos!

Shannon + John :: Old City – Philadelphia, PA

Shannon and John were set up by one of Shannons friends… who also happens to be Johns cousin! As they say, the rest is history!  John proposed to her in their Old City Philadelphia apartment after a night of dinner and dancing. They chose to walk out their front door and use the Philadelphia waterfront and surrounding area for their session… the same area they walk their dog together and enjoy daily!

Michelle + Chris :: Franklin Square Park – Philadelphia, PA

Michelle and Chris have a fun, long love story where they actually met one another 16 years ago, and years later, reconnected and here we are – they are getting married in just over 4 months!  Since Chris proposed on Christmas Eve last year, they wanted a festive engagement session.  They chose the most adorable location – Franklin Square Park!

Kasey + Bill :: Historic Smithville – Galloway, NJ

Kasey and Bill met while working with one another, and their friendship grew over the years to so much more.  They will be getting married in only a few weeks! But first, we captured their engagement session in a spot that they love, during a season they love! Smithville at Christmas!

A Historic Smithville Engagement Session | Kasey & Bill

Kasey and Bill are such an adorable, lovable couple! They met one another back in 2012 while working together at their local WaWa!  What a way to meet!  Ryan and I actually met one another while working together as well!  Its always wonderful to be able to gain such a trust and friendship while working with one another, and then let the spark ignite from there!  Another reason that I just adore Kasey, is that she is a fellow LuLaRoe consultant! There is an amazing culture to LuLaRoe and being able to capture a fellow consultants wedding is just the icing on the cake!

Kasey and Bill were engaged in August of 2015. Her engagement ring diamond was actually from her moms engagement ring! Such a sentimental, meaningful ring! For their engagement session, they chose the always adorable Historic Smithville in Galloway, NJ. And of course we wanted to include their adorable son, Liam, in the session with them as well!  He may not have liked the camera too much, but he was still super adorable!

We can not wait to capture their wedding next month at The Bradford Estate! They have such an awesome day planned with a gorgeous color scheme of plum, bright turquoise and soft gold!  It is going to be perfect!

I don’t think Liam liked Mommy and Daddy kissing..

Nicole + Drew!

Nicole + Drew!

Nicole and Drew have a pretty awesome love story!  They’ve actually known one another for about 15 years because Nicole’s best friend is Drews sister!  So, he had no choice but to get to know her over all of these years! It was about 7 years ago that they went on a trip with a bunch of their friends to Cancun that they finally started to connect on a whole other level… and a few months later Drew asked Nicole to be his girlfriend!

Fast forward to this past May – Nicole and Drew bought their first house together!  And while they were out front taking photos, Drew dropped down to one knee and proposed!  It was all captured by photo and video – which makes our hearts SO happy!  And later that day, all of their friends and family brought tables and chairs and of course champagne to their empty home to celebrate their engagement! <3

Enjoy the sneak peek to their engagement photos at the beautiful Historic Smithville – they wanted to capture the wonderful Christmas feeling of Smithville, and we think we’ve achieved that!  xoNicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0001 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0002 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0003 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0005 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0006 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0007 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0008 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0009 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0010 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0011 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0013 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0014 Nicole-Drew-Historic-Smithville-Christmas-Engagement-Photography-0015

Heather + Mike!

Heather + Mike!

Heather and Mike met each other through mutual friends… who coincidentally, are also named Heather + Mike… So of course it was a total sign that they were meant to be from the very beginning! Over the next few years, they mastered the long distance thing with college and prevailed! When they were dating just around five and a half years, Michael took Heather out to the Smithville Bakery for breakfast (since breakfast is her absolute favorite meal of the day!) and they just walked around Smithville… They then stopped in the gazebo overlooking the lake, and right there in the center, Mike proposed!

So, it was only right to capture their engagement photos where it all happened – Smithville!!  Enjoy the sneak peek of our time with them! xoHeather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0002 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0011 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0022 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0032 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0037 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0044 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0058 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0065 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0075 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0081 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0090 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0096 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0106 They might have a little rivalry in their family… Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0126 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0132 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0137 Heather-Mike-Smithville-Engagement-Photography-0141

Melissa + Matt!

Melissa + Matt!

Melissa is a girl after my own heart – with a love of Disney and fairytales… So, when she told me about their proposal, well, it was perfect in my eyes!  In May of 2013, they went to Disney, and Matt had disappeared during the fireworks… when he came back, he had a beautiful floral arrangement made to look like the pillow that prince charming brought Cinderalla’s glass slipper on – and it had a real glass slipper on top of it!  It was then, during the fireworks, in front of Cinderella’s castle that Matt proposed to Melissa – it was a perfect fairytale moment!

We met up with these two lovebirds at the adorable Smithville to capture their engagement photos with their adorable dog Tank! He was so sweet and such a daddy’s boy! We had a great time getting to know them more, and can’t wait for their wedding next summer at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia!  Enjoy the sneak peek! xo
