These two lovebirds met a little over four years ago… in a bar! Rick was with someone that Stephanie had gone to high school with, they hit it off right away, and he spent the next four years visiting her up at Rider University almost every weekend!
This past April is when Rick proposed! he had been planning to propose for a while, but wanted to wait until they were at the beach, because he knew is was Stephanie’s favorite place. Well, they were on vacation in Virginia Beach, and that is when it happened! <3
They both love the woods, and the woodsy-feel, so we figured the perfect place would be Washington Lake Park for their engagement session! We hope you enjoy the sneak peek! xo
Since then, every October, Melissa and Jason would go down to Orlando to do Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and visit Disney World too! Well, this year while they were at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Jason surprised Melissa with a private safari tour! If that wasn’t cool enough, at one of their stops along the way, with giraffes in the background, Jason got down on one knee and proposed! Swoon! Such a thoughtful and perfect proposal!!
They will be married this October at The Carriage House… but for now, here are their engagement photos at Washington Lake Park! Enjoy! xo Oh, the way they look at one another… love! We’re so lucky that they chose us after we captured Jason’s sisters wedding last year! <3 I have such an obsession with yellow diamonds (and pink ones too!) :) You are going to be such a beautiful bride Melissa!
As far as their engagement… It all started on a random Monday, when Katie told Steven she was bored… She began crafting and about an hour later, Steve’s younger brother Danny handed her an envelope… When she opened the envelope she realized that it was a clue for a scavenger hunt! (She thought nothing of it because they have done scavenger hunts before and thought Steven created one because she was bored).
Steven’s first clue took her to their friend Jennie’s house where they had hung out and had their first kiss… She received her next clue from Jennie which took her to their high school where Steve first watched her play lacrosse. The clue after that took her to his parent house – specifically their driveway – where Steven asked her to be his girlfriend seven years prior! The next clue took her to their local swim club where they had decided to get their dog Shamus. On to the next clue which brought her to their house which they had bout together in Nov of 2012.
The final clue was taped to their refrigerator… and had asked Katie to meet Steven at the Cape May Lighthouse. (Katie admits that even with this clue, she still had no idea Steven was going to propose). As Katie walked onto the beach, she saw Steven standing there all dressed up, holding flowers… She has no idea what he said, but can remember him pulling out a box… getting on one knee… and proposing! Of course she said yes!
It was then that she saw two ladies jumping up and down, cheery and walking towards them… Steven had asked his mom and aunt to come and take pictures of the proposal!! They then headed back home, where Steven had arranged a small party of their closest friends and family!! Probably one of my favorite engagement stories yet!!
We captured their engagement session close to their house, at Washington Lake Park, and in a little under two weeks, we will be capturing their I do’s at The Chalfonte in Cape May!! <3 Cant wait!! xo

Adam proposed to Courtney on December 23rd, 2013. He took her out to dinner and then to look at Christmas lights… When they arrived back home, there was a large board against their garage door… Adam had a remote that turned on the Christmas lights – which spelled out Will You Marry Me? How cute is that?! Swoon!!!
Ryan and I have the amazing privilege of capturing Courtney and Adam’s wedding next year in beautiful Punta Cana! In the meantime, for their engagement session, we went opposite of the beach, and went to a park instead! We had such a great time getting to know them more! And after the sun finally set, and it got dark, (since we arent going to be able to bring any sparklers to their wedding) we played and had a ton of fun with sparklers! <3 Enjoy the sneak peek!! xoAbsolutely beautiful! Rob and Tara dated for a very short time in 8th grade.. Fast forward to 10 years later, when they bump into each other at a bar! Tara was there with her girlfriends, and Rob was there celebrating his Civil Service Test – but their groups eventually became one throughout the night and he didnt leave her side. They parted ways that night, and eventually talked through Myspace and email, and have been inseparable ever since!
Their engagement in the words of Tara:
“Our engagement was perfect, I really wanted to be surprised, and I didn’t want it to be in front of other people. I really don’t remember why now, but I didn’t have a great day at work. I walked in the door, and was completely surprised, because Rob shampooed the carpet. I was so happy because I was planning on doing it anyway that weekend to get ready for Thanksgiving. Rob suggested we go out to dinner, and get some sushi. The food was great, but Rob was getting really antsy because it seemed like the waiter forgot about us. When we finally got home Rob started telling me about getting his haircut earlier that day and how some girl he use to have a crush on that cut it. For some reason I felt the need to ask if she was prettier than me. i was just messing with him, but he always has to tell that part of the story, so I figured i should too. He laughed at me and said no. He sat on the couch and asked if I wanted to try and find something to watch. Just as we were getting comfortable, he started asking a bunch of questions… “Are you sure you love me even though I play a bunch of video games?” “Yes.” “Are you sure you love me even though I lose my temper with the dogs sometimes?” “Yes, of course” Then he leaned over said “Then prove it” and kissed me. I didn’t notice, but he reached in the couch and pulled out the box. He knelt in front of me, opened the box, and before he could even ask me to marry him I was bawling my eyes out, and shaking my head yes. I don’t think I could have said anything if I wanted to because as soon as the water works started, the dogs jumped on my lap and started licking my face. Like I said I wanted to be surprised, and I didn’t want in to be in front of anyone, but having the dogs “join in” made it perfect for me.”
